Call or text(619) 567-5497What we move
- Upright pianos (spinet, console, studio)
- Baby grands
- Grands (5′1″–6′3″)
- Concert grands (7′+)
- Player pianos and digital piano consoles
- Vintage and antique pianos with extra care
How we do it
- Pre-move call — type, weight, stairs, doorways. Sometimes we send a crew member to look in person.
- Custom rigging — piano dollies, skid boards, four-wheeled carts depending on the piece.
- Wrap and protect — quilted blankets and shrink wrap protect the finish and the moving parts.
- Move — minimum 3 movers for grands, 2 for uprights with no stairs. More crew for stairs.
- Place — set it in its new spot, level it on the legs.
What to do before the move
- Lock the lid and pedals (we’ll re-check)
- Clear a path from the piano to the truck
- Measure doorways narrower than 32″ and tell us — we may need to remove the legs on a grand
- Don’t move the piano yourself; one bad lift can damage strings and joints
FAQ
How much does it cost to move a piano in San Diego?
Most piano moves run $300–$1,500 depending on type, weight, and access (stairs, tight corners, narrow doorways). An upright on a single floor is on the low end; a 7-foot grand with stairs is on the high end. Quoted per inspection.
Do you move uprights and grands?
Both. Uprights, spinets, consoles, baby grands, grands. Custom rigging for irregular pieces. We use piano dollies and skid boards designed for the weight.
Can you move my piano up or down stairs?
Yes. Stair piano moves are quoted higher because they take more crew (typically 3 movers instead of 2) and more time. Tell us how many stairs and which floor when you call.
Is my piano insured during the move?
Per-item valuation coverage is available for specialty items. Tell us the piano's value when you book and we'll discuss coverage options. Standard cargo insurance is included on every move.
Do you tune the piano after the move?
No — that's a piano tuner's job, and most need to sit for 2–4 weeks in the new location before tuning. We can refer a tuner if you don't have one.
Ready to move your piano?
Tell us the type, the floors, the date. We’ll quote it. (619) 567-5497.
