We protect floors and doorways, disassemble standard furniture, and reassemble on the other end. No day-laborers — the crew you book is the crew that shows up.

How much does a local move in San Diego cost?
Our rate is $48 per mover and $48 per truck, per hour: 2 movers + truck is $144/hr, 3 movers + truck $192/hr, and 4 movers + truck $240/hr, with standard packing materials included. Most apartment moves complete in 3–5 hours; a 3-bedroom house typically runs 6–8 hours. There's just a 2-hour minimum.
What's included in your hourly rate?
Truck, two movers, blankets, dollies, shrink wrap, and floor protection are all included. No surprise fees on top of the hourly rate. We disassemble and reassemble standard furniture as part of the job.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Yes — a 2-hour minimum, and packing is booked at the same rate with the same minimum. You'll get the full estimate including the minimum before booking.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Elmer's Moving holds a Cal-T number with the California Bureau of Household Goods (BHGS), plus general liability and cargo insurance. CA movers are regulated by BHGS, not CSLB — many local movers don't display either, but we do.
How far in advance should I book?
1–2 weeks of lead time is comfortable. For peak season (June–August) book 4+ weeks ahead. We do take same-day bookings when crew capacity allows — call (619) 567-5497.
